John Lennon: A REAL Celebrity!

Hey. Let me tell you something right now, this whole celebrity obsessed culture of ours, IT SUCKS!! The current crop of so-called Hollywood stars, THEY SUCK!! YEAH I SAID IT! The Britneys, The Parises, The Angelinas, The Beyonces, The Kanyes, The Katy Perrys, The "Twilights", The Kardashiens, The Lindseys and The GaGas of the world and plenty others can all BITE IT!! They're a bunch of bloated, self-centered, insecure, over the top nitwits who only care about being on TV, posing on the red carpet, making meaningless headlines and selling perfume! They'll never know how to connect with everyday people on a personal and emotional level. They have abselutley no clue what's going on in the world nor can they make people feel that they can make a difference in it! That's what John Lennon did! He wrote songs that connected and mattered. He risked his fame and his career to say what he felt and believed in. He was willing to stick his neck out to make a better world for everyone. He was even bold enough to have (and want) a private life. What celebrity today can do that? What celebrity would WILLINGLY put their fame and their career on the shelf for 5 years just to raise and spend time with a child? Let me answer that. NONE!! They're so much attention whores, it's pathetic!! That's what I'll always admire about Lennon. He wasn't trying to draw attention to himself. He wasn't doing anything embarressing or stupid so people could talk about it all the time. He was trying to be a normal human being. And he succeded. I know this sounds a bit corny, but John Lennon possessed something greater than fame and fortune. He had a loving wife, a beautiful baby boy and a happy life(albeit a bit too breifly). At that's worth more than all the money and gold in Hollywood, my friends. Well, it's been 30 years since that sick bastard took Mr. Lennon away from us, but he is still a hero to everyone around the world(especially me). He made the world a bit more loving, a bit more selfless, a bit more free and a bit more happy. And it's a much colder, more joyless one without him. So here's to you, John. We still love you and you are deeply, deeply missed. Today's braindead celbs could learn a lot from you. You will always be superstar to me. RIP

John Lennon
