George Lucas, Disney, STAR WARS and The Future

Hey. By now you all know about Mr. George Lucas selling his LucasFilm Ltd. to The Walt Disney Company for 4 billion dollars. And the reaction to it has been extremely vocal to say the least. Some out of pure anger. Some out of confusion. And some out of fear that this is the final nail in the coffin for the STAR WARS franchise. Me, personally? I'm sorta on the fence with this whole thing. I mean, I've been a STAR WARS fan for as long as I can remember. Heck, I even watch the less-receivable prequels! HA! HA! But I'm not a straight up, hardcore worshiper like some many out there! So I'm not going to go on some anti-George Lucas tirade just because he did what he felt was best for his company! On the other hand,  I am very fearful at what Disney is going to do with LucasFilm now that they own it. There's already a brand new STAR WARS trilogy planned with "Episode VII" being out in 2015 as some of you know. What's it going to be about? What timeframe will it be in? Will Luke(Mark Hamill), Han(Harrison Ford) and Leia(Carrie Fisher) be in it? Will the Empire still be around? Will the Ewoks make an appearance(ha ha)? And what's next after the trilogy, eh? When, or if they're done with STAR WARS, they might turn their attention to other LucasFilm franchises. Like Indiana Jones. There's already a STAR WARS TV show planned for ABC(which is another property owned by Disney, by the way). Why not an Indiana Jones show? Or another IJ movie?! Or a new IJ trilogy?! How 'bout "American Graffiti"? Yeah, bring back "American Graffitti"! They can make new characters, set it 20 years later and call it "American Graffitti: The Next Generation"! Won't that be great?! Hell, why not bring back "Howard The Duck"?! They can make an animated series with Lea Thompson as the voice of Beverly! Cool, huh? Or how bout' the long awaited sequel to "Willow"? Or a remake of "THX 1138"? THE POSSIBILTIES ARE ENDLESS!! Well, we'll just have to wait and see what this Disney-Lucasfilm marriage has in store for us. Whether good or bad, it's a sure bet it's going to be a wild and exciting ride! Bye 4 now, and MAY THE FORCE BE WITH US!

WOMAN MOVIE!

Hey, yall! First off, let me say that it's been a while since my last post(2 years) and for that, I apologize. Now, let me start off by saying, I LOVE WOMEN!! I think they're great! I think they're the best thing to be put on this earth! Having said that, it pains me to say that there's a big problem in our culture concerning women. There seems to be a concerted effort in the media, on TV and in movies to potray women as less than human! There seems to be an effort to make them a bit, oh, how shall I put this: SHALLOW, OBNOXIOUS, UPTIGHT, SELF-CENTERED, ARROGANT, PETTY, SELF-LOATHING, SNARKY, HUMORLESS, SELF-ABSORBED, COLD HEARTED, INSECURE, MEAN-SPIRITED, OVER DEMANDING, HIGH MAINTENANCE, OVERBEARING, MISERABLE, ANGRY, CRAZY, PUSHY, STUPID AND JUST PLAIN MEAN!! I mean, it's everywhere! It's spreading like a disease and, in my humble opinion, it's making women look bad! That's why I think  a parody movie should be made focusing on this problem. It may not be a fast solution, but it will make people more aware(hopefully).
You know all those "MOVIE" movies? You know, SCARY MOVIE 1 through 4, DATE MOVIE, EPIC MOVIE, DISASTER MOVIE AND SUPERHERO MOVIE(ALSO MEET THE SPARTANS AND DANCE FLICK)! Well, for those who don't know, these are parody movies poking fun at certain movie genres:
SCARY MOVIE(horror genre)
DATE MOVIE(romantic comedy genre)
EPIC MOVIE(blockbuster genre)
DISASTER MOVIE(blockbuster genre)
SUPERHERO MOVIE(superhero genre)
DANCE FLICK(hip-hop dance genre) (sorry, that' the best I could come up with)
MEET THE SPARTANS(pop culture in general, I think)
But the most noticable part about these movies is the pop culture references outside the genre that show up on occasion. They can be annoying, but they manage to get people talking. And that I think is what should be done with this parody. Keep people talking about how silly this misrepresentation of women is. WOMAN MOVIE(that's the name of it)should show how women are "represented" in TV, movies and in media. Here are some shows, movies and personalities I'd personally like see used in this parody:
